This regional delegation focuses on promoting the incorporation of IHL into national legislation, the operational procedures, manuals and training programmes of armed forces and the curricula of academic institutions. The delegation also works with police forces on the integratin of human rights law applicable to the use of force in situations of violence. In addition, it spreads knowledge of IHL among authorities, schools, media and the public. Finally, the regional delegation contributes to developing the operational capacities of the region’s National Societies and assists them in their humanitarian work.
