    The Border Guards of Bangladesh (BGB), the largest security force in the country, are to take part in a training course on international humanitarian law and international human rights law. The course, jointly organized by the BGB's Khulna Sector Headquarters and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), will be held on 22 and 23 May.

  • Iran/Iraq: striving to end uncertainty for families of war missing

    The mortal remains of 98 Iranian and 13 Iraqi soldiers killed during the 1980-1988 war between the two countries were repatriated today at the Shalamja border crossing near Basra with support from the ICRC.

  • Haiti: new centre for disabled rekindles hope

    The Special Fund for the Disabled of the ICRC officially inaugurated a new physical rehabilitation centre in Port-au-Prince today. The facility opened its doors following a year of rebuilding and repair work on the previous structure, which was destroyed by the earthquake of 12 January 2010.
