Fernanda Calado, head nurse (ICRC, Spanish nationality). Born in 1947 (aged 49). Many previous ICRC missions. Started in Chechnya in August and was part of the first team to arrive in Novyi Atagi to set the hospital up.

Sheryl Thayer,  nurse (New Zealand Red Cross) Date of birth : 06.12.1956 (aged 40). From Wellingon, New Zealand. Started ICRC in 1989 (head nurse in Thailand). Three missions since : Kabul, Thailand again. Started in Chechnya in November for six months.
