Your task

The data administrator manages the personal data of all those who come under the ICRC’s mandate (prisoners of war, missing persons, children separated from their families, etc.). In so doing, he/she contributes directly to protecting these people. His/her main duties are the following:

  • management of the database (including analyses and statistics)
  • management of data collected in the field
  • implementation of updating procedures
  • supervision and training of national staff
Selection requirements
  • ideal age: 25 to 35
  • prepared to accept unaccompanied postings for the first two missions (minimum 12 months each)
  • excellent command of English and French
  • basic business training (Swiss Federal Certificate of Proficiency or equivalent)
  • three to four years’ professional experience
  • thorough knowledge of how to use and manage a database
  • fully conversant with IT tools and the Internet
  • driving licence (for manual transmission vehicles)

  • interest in supervising and training staff
  • prepared to work under pressure in situations where security is often a problem
