Library and Research Service
The Library and Research Service is a public resource offering over 140,000 documents on international humanitarian law, humanitarian work and ICRC activities. The documents take a range of forms – books, periodicals, videos, photos and CD-ROMs.

Books
The Library & Research Service contains over 25,000 books, in a number of languages, on international humanitarian law and related subjects such as public international law, disarmament, human rights, terrorism, refugees and political prisoners. Also covered are the history and development of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and questions relating to humanitarian assistance in general.

Photos
The Library & Research Service handles photo requests and orders from users both inside and outside the organization. It contains some 100,000 documents covering ICRC operations and conflicts from the 1850s to the present day.

Videos
Over the years, the ICRC has produced or coproduced a variety of films on its operations and on specific issues. The video catalogue, with selected titles, can be consulted on the ICRC's Website, which is regularly updated. Viewing facilities are available and most films can be borrowed.
Research facilities
The multimedia area, which can accommodate a large number of users, offers a pleasant working environment, computers with Internet access and CD-ROM drives, a video-viewing area and a photocopier.
